We understand that there has been some confusion in regards to the two topics presented and we hope this site helps provide clarity in addition to our scheduled webinar presentations.

National Player Fee Increase
AYSO has not had a player fee increase since 2013 and unfortunately, player counts have been on the decrease for the better part of five years. Even though we are confident that they will stabilize and start to grow, we have to be realistic in this present moment that loss is still very much a reality that we have to plan for and make other arrangements in order to keep the organization successful.
The fee increase will be from from $17.50 to $20.00, with the $1.25 being allocated to volunteer background checks being removed from the Player Membership Fee, effectively making the cost increase to $3.75.
This cost increase was approved by the membership at the 2018 NAGM and will become effective in MY2019, starting February 6, 2019.
New Volunteer Membership Program
The new volunteer membership program was voted on by the National Board of Directors last fall and will go into effect in MY2019 as well. In order to keep the safety of our children as the highest priority, we are raising our background checks to Level 2. The Volunteer Membership Program fee will be raised to $25 and include the level 2 background check and volunteer training courses.
Regions have the power to decide how you would like to manage this in your own program. You can pass this cost directly on to your volunteers or you can subsidize them by including it in your Player Fees.
A full breakdown of how you can do this is demonstrated in the Volunteer Membership Program PPT and will be covered in the webinars.
Wells One Purchase Card
AYSO has teamed up with Wells Fargo to provide Executive Members (RC’s, AD’s, and SD’s) with a Wells One Purchase Card. Similar to the AMEX program, the commercial card is used to pay:
• AYSO Membership fees: Blue Sombrero
• Volunteer Membership Program ($25): if the Region decides to pay for the volunteers
• Eventually: uniforms, Expo’s
The benefits of the Wells One Purchase Card include:
• A personal credit check is NOT required
• Online access with NAP Codes: expenses loaded directly from Wells Fargo monthly to NAP online. No hard copy statements or login to WF is necessary
• No bills – the ACH withdrawal is deducted directly from your Region bank account
• Region name on card: can pass it down when position is up

We hope the information contained here has given you a better understanding of the reasoning behind the Player Fee Increase and the NEW Volunteer Membership Program.
We all share the same vision and passion for AYSO and want to continue to offer a world class youth soccer program for all children and we believe this is the best way for us to make it a reality for years to come.

Player Fee Increase
We have not had a player fee increase since 2013 and with player counts decreasing for the better part of five years, we needed to plan to make other arrangements in order to keep the organization successful as we look towards the future to grow the program.
Volunteer Membership Program
Yes, the fee is only assessed once.
Yes, this is a yearly fee.
Yes, we are working with our vendor to see if this is possible.
Will the new level 2 background checks require the volunteers to do more than they are doing now? (i.e.; fingerprint checks, submit more information?)
No, it will be the same information.
We have negotiated a reduced fee for the organization.
We explored that idea, however, corporate sponsors are not a reliable source of revenue because of contract terms and sustainability.
We don’t run background checks on youth under age 18.
